Soccer Game Preview: Fairfax vs. La Joya Community

Fairfax and La Joya Community are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but likely not for long. The Fairfax Stampede will venture away from home to take on the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Last Tuesday, Fairfax didn't have quite enough to beat Independence and fell 4-3.

Kevin Sonnah and Nathan Sackor scored all three of Fairfax's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Joya Community). They blew past Paradise Valley 4-1 on Thursday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Fighting Lobos were the better team in the second half.

The victory got La Joya Community back to even at 2-2-1. As for Fairfax, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1.

Fairfax suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to La Joya Community in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Fairfax avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
