Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Red Springs). They took down the West Bladen Knights 55-36 on Tuesday. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.
Monica Washington was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 19 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nakira Hunt, who posted 15 points.
Red Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kali Allen, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points and five rebounds. Alina Chavez was another key player, putting up eight points.
The win made it two in a row for Red Springs and bumps their season record up to 5-12. As for West Bladen, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Red Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-24 victory against Midway on the 29th. As for West Bladen, they will take on St. Pauls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
