Basketball Recap: Olivia Tunstall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Thrasher over Belmont

After flying high against Hamilton last Saturday, Thrasher came back down to earth. The Rebels fell just short of the Belmont Cardinals by a score of 63-60 on Saturday.

Thrasher lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Olivia Tunstall, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. The matchup was her third in a row with at least 18 points. Brookelyn Roberts was another key player, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Thrasher's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Belmont, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thrasher will host Ingomar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 25.2 points per game this season, so the Rebels' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Belmont, they will face off against Tishomingo County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
