Basketball Recap: Chevak Extends Winning Streak to 12

Chevak had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.6 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Saturday. They strolled past the Hooper Bay Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 49-35. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Warriors are ranked 81st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chevak's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Laney Green, who posted 17 points. Kali Hill was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Chevak's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.1 points over those games. As for Hooper Bay, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

As of now, neither Chevak nor Hooper Bay have any future games scheduled.
