Baseball Game Preview: James Clemens Jets vs. Florence Falcons

For the second straight game, James Clemens will face off against Florence. The Jets will welcome the Falcons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. James Clemens' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Florence's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

James Clemens barely beat Florence the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jets put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 10-1 victory on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Jets needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Matthew Drinkwater spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trip Morgan, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Smith, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

James Clemens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Florence only posted a batting average of .087.

James Clemens' win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Florence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-14.
