Volleyball Recap: Hialeah Educational Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Hialeah Educational Academy was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of International Studies on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Biggie took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda on Tuesday. The Biggie were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Barracuda apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2021.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 21-25, 25-16, 25-18.

Brianna Guerrero paced Hialeah Educational Academy's offense, picking up three kills. Guerrero got some help from Anyelyne Montero and her two assists. Finally, Guerrero was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Leading Don Soffer Aventura to victory were Fiorella Funes and Brunna Oliveira. Funes had eight aces and four digs, while Oliveira had five digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Oliveira a new career-high.

Hialeah Educational Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hialeah Educational Academy will challenge Avant Garde Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Don Soffer Aventura, they will take on FAU High at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
