Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lone Star). Everything went their way against the Newman Smith Trojans on Tuesday as the Lone Star Rangers made off with a 63-37 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Rangers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while the Trojans are ranked 158th).

The victory made it two in a row for Lone Star and bumps their season record up to 6-10. As for Newman Smith, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-2.

Lone Star will host Highland Park at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Newman Smith, they will head out on the road to challenge Turner at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
