Baseball Recap: Logansport Gets the Win

Logansport posted their closest victory since April 19th on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mishawaka Marian Knights, sneaking past 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Berries.

Josh Middleton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Logansport's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Micah Rogers, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Rogers has posted over his last eight matchups. Deagan Kitchel was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Logansport's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Mishawaka Marian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Logansport wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on the 10th. As for Mishawaka Marian, they will face off against Elkhart at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
