Baseball Recap: Atholton Takes a Loss

Atholton lost against Long Reach back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Raiders took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lightning. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Josh Meadows and Thomas MacKenzie stepped up to the plate in a big way. Meadows scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while MacKenzie went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Meadows has become a key player for Atholton: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jack Martin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Atholton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Atholton will head out to challenge Glenelg at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Long Reach does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
