Vicksburg has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They fell 3-1 to the Lakeview Spartans on Monday. While losing is never fun, Vicksburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Lakeview are ranked 14th).

Vicksburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-6-1. As for Lakeview, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Vicksburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Plainwell at 6:30 p.m. on September 3. As for Lakeview, they will head out on the road to challenge Portage Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Portage Central's defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Lakeview's offense will have their work cut out for them.
