No. 19-ranked team has small player with big heart.

One of the nation's best teams also has one of the nation's most unique players.

Adam Reed is a 4-foot-5, 95-pound running back for American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.), which is ranked No. 19 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings.

In a beautifully-penned feature by Manny Navarro in the Miami Herald, Reed makes it clear that despite his smaller-than-normal frame, he is just a regular football player.

"I'm a little undersized," Reed told the Miami Herald. "But it's, whatever. I don't let my size stop me from doing anything."

According to the article, the explanation for his size is not clear.

While his frame may be undersized, it's clear that Reed has a larger heart than most playing high school football. But his goals are the same as those of every American Heritage player.

"I want to win a championship ring," he told the Herald, "and just play my role. Whatever it is."
