Basketball Recap: Weddington Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Weddington extended their home winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Caroline Clark. The Weddington Warriors strolled past the East Mecklenburg Eagles with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 56-41 thanks in part to Clark, who posted 11 points and eight steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Page, who put up nine points and five rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

East Mecklenburg lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mackenna Weisner, who posted 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kameyah Browm, who earned seven points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks.

Weddington's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for East Mecklenburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.

Weddington will face off against Porter Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Weddington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season. As for East Mecklenburg, they will take on Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Mecklenburg is facing Independence at the right time seeing as Independence is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
