Volleyball Recap: Holly Comes Up Short

Holly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss back in September.

Holly started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-15, 28-26.

Allison Rushton paced Holly's offense, picking up 12 kills. Rushton got some help from Luci Schwab and her 28 assists. Miranda Valdez controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Holly's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett], the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-4.

Coming up, Holly will venture away from home to take on Wiley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett], they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Kim/Branson on the 16th.
