The Rockmart Yellowjackets are on the road again on Thursday to play the Trion Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Rockmart's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Trion's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Tuesday, Rockmart didn't have quite enough to beat North Cobb Christian and fell 4-3.

Madi Sanders and MaryKate Dunn did some serious damage despite the final result: Sanders got on base in all four of her plate appearances with a stolen base and an RBI, while Dunn went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Abi Teems, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Trion entered their tilt with Christian Heritage on Wednesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Lions 9-1. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by eight runs or more this season.

Rockmart's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Trion, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Everything went Rockmart's way against Trion in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, as Rockmart made off with a 12-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rockmart since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
