 Coastal Academy has been on the road for nine straight, but  on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Maranatha Christian Eagles at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 On Wednesday, Coastal Academy beat Escondido 5-1.
  Kailee Tran made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off   six  hits. Tran was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Grace Carsey was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and  an  RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last five times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Ava Alvarez, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Meanwhile, Maranatha Christian has not done well against Tri-City Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  back in March. Maranatha Christian walked away with  an   8-5  win over Tri-City Christian. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Maranatha Christian.
 Like Coastal Academy, Maranatha Christian also got a great game from a two-way player:  Lillian Visser. On the mound, she  tossed seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   eight  hits (she also didn't allow any  walks). Visser was even better at the plate,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run.
 In other batting news,  Hope Fitzherbert was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4.
 Coastal Academy's victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 8-9. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.0 runs per game. As for Maranatha Christian,  the  win  got them back to even at 3-3.
Maranatha Christian's pitching crew has a tough task ahead of them:  Coastal Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .352.
