Softball Recap: South Summit Wildcats vs. North Sanpete Hawks

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South Summit had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over the North Sanpete Hawks. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 13-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Malia Olson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Broadbent, who went 4-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: South Summit kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 12-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

South Summit has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season. As for North Sanpete, their loss dropped their record down to 17-13.

As of now, neither South Summit nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
