Softball Recap: Basic Takes a Loss

Basic couldn't beat Liberty on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fifth inning. The Wolves came up short against the Patriots, falling 14-5. The Wolves have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Basic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adriana Skoczylas, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Skoczylas has launched this season. Another was Natalee Ramos, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Basic's record is now 0-11. As for Liberty, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Basic is set to challenge their familiar foe Doral Academy Red Rock at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Liberty will square off against rival Centennial at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
