Baseball Recap: Lewis Mills Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lewis Mills had no problem doing just that on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Tolland Eagles. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Gage Kosak looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Eli Pavelchak, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Williams, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Lewis Mills' win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Tolland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Lewis Mills nor Tolland have any future games scheduled.
