Softball Game Preview: Mercersburg Academy Storm vs. Blair Academy Bucs

Mercersburg Academy is 0-8 against Blair Academy since April of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Storm will challenge the Bucs at 1:00 p.m. Mercersburg Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Mercersburg Academy made easy work of Forbes Road and carried off a 17-7 win. The Storm might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by eight runs or more this season.

Mercersburg Academy got a massive performance out of Pritz Pritzker, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Pritzker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamden Jenkins, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Mercersburg Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Blair Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against The Pingry School, falling 9-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bucs have suffered since April 17, 2024.

Mercersburg Academy's record is now 5-6. As for Blair Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Mercersburg Academy couldn't quite finish off Blair Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
