Lincoln County falls despite strong effort from Dylan Sharp

Recap: Lincoln County Lions vs. Loyola-Sacred Heart Rams

The Lincoln County Lions lost against the Loyola-Sacred Heart Rams back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The New Year welcomed Lincoln County with a 83-40 whooping from Loyola-Sacred Heart. While losing is never fun, Lincoln County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Loyola-Sacred Heart is ranked 19th).

Despite the loss, Lincoln County still got an impressive performance from Dylan Sharp, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists. The game was Sharp's third in a row with at least ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Lincoln County and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Loyola-Sacred Heart, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln County will take on St. Ignatius at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Ignatius will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Loyola-Sacred Heart, they will head out on the road to face off against Arlee at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
