Baseball Recap: Eastbrook's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Eastbrook dropped their record down to 12-8 on Saturday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home. They fell 13-9 to the Tipton Blue Devils. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 12-7 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in May of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Blake Jacobs made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Landon McEvoy, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

As for Tipton, they moved to 4-14 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Tipton's side, the team relied heavily on Kellen Hussong, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Hussong has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Hare, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Eastbrook will face off against Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tipton, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-9 victory against Tri-Central on the 12th.
