Soccer Game Preview: Thatcher vs. Yuma Catholic

The Thatcher Eagles will square off against the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Thatcher's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Sabino. It was an even better day for Kalli Bingham as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Yuma Catholic had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.2 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Dust Devils as they made off with an 8-1 win. Eight seems to be a good number for the Shamrocks as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Yuma Catholic's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Thatcher, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
