Baseball Recap: South Pittsburg Triumphs

While South Pittsburg's win against Van Buren County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Eagles 6-5. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

South Pittsburg's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Fults, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Fults has become a key player for the Pirates: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-15 otherwise. Another was Jace Stone, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

South Pittsburg's victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Van Buren County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

South Pittsburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
