Basketball Recap: Morgan Stoicoiu's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Field over Independence

Field blew Independence out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Independence got their revenge. The Falcons fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 39-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Falcons have suffered since December 4, 2024.

Field's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morgan Stoicoiu, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alison Church, who had seven points and five boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Field fell to 2-1.

Field and Independence will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Falcons are set to face off against their familiar foe Woodridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Independence will challenge rival Trinity at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
