Baseball Recap: Rancho Alamitos Triumphs

Rancho Alamitos took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Anaheim, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vaqueros narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Colonists 2-1.

Rancho Alamitos saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Davian Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Sanchez has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. Ethan Shepherd was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Rancho Alamitos is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Anaheim, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-7.
