It was a good run, but West Las Vegas unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Santa Fe Indian Braves by a score of 5-4. The Dons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Braves earlier this season, when they won 4-0.

West Las Vegas saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ceasar Montoya, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

West Las Vegas' defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Santa Fe Indian, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 10-4.

Coming up, West Las Vegas will venture away from home to square off against Robertson at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Santa Fe Indian, they have already played their next contest, a 12-3 win against Rehoboth Christian on the 12th.
