Basketball Recap: Leon Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Leon hadn't done well against Lovelady recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Leon Cougars walked away with a 43-33 victory over the Lovelady Lions. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Lions back in December of 2024, they had to take a 52-44 loss.

Leon has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Lovelady, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-5.

Coincidentally, Leon and Lovelady will both be playing Latexo the next time they take the court. Leon will host Latexo at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, while Lovelady will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
