Noel Barnhill made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those doubles were her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caitlyn Collins, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Collins is also crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Sophia. Michael was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
Lynchburg-Clay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .568 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, South Webster sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Unioto on Wednesday.
Jaiden White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Kaylee House was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
Lynchburg-Clay's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for South Webster, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
