Baseball Recap: Lewis County Minutemen vs. Hoover Huskies
After flying high against Clay County last Tuesday, Lewis County came back down to earth. The Lewis County Minutemen took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hoover Huskies on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lewis County of the 10-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture two weeks ago.
Lewis County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leo Jones, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
On Hoover's side, Colin Lindsay and Braydon Bounds did most of the damage at the plate: Lindsay went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double, while Bounds scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Lewis County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-7 record this season. As for Hoover, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.
