Recap: Watertown Indians vs. Kennedy Eagles
The Watertown Indians pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Kennedy by a score of 60-58. Watertown has struggled against Kennedy recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justin Davis, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was John Platt, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Watertown were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennedy only racked up six assists.
Terrance Morrison continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kennedy, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Morrison pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Morrison, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Watertown bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road. As for Kennedy, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Watertown will take on Derby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Derby is ranked 142nd, while Watertown is ranked 159th). As for Kennedy, they will be playing at home against Ansonia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
