Basketball Recap: Sophie Fox's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Au Gres-Sims over Hale

After flying high against Hillman last Thursday, Au Gres-Sims came back down to earth. The Au Gres-Sims Wolverines fell just short of the Hale Eagles by a score of 50-47 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolverines have suffered since March 8, 2024.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophie Fox, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. Fox is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games she's played. Analeis Ming was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Au Gres-Sims has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Hale, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Posen the next time they take the court. Au Gres-Sims will host Posen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Hale will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
