Preview: St. Anthony's Friars vs. St. Dominic Bayhawks
St. Anthony is 9-1 against St. Dominic since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The St. Anthony's Friars will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Dominic Bayhawks at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully St. Anthony's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, St. Anthony's had just enough and edged St. John the Baptist out 54-51.
St. Anthony's found their leader in underclassman Kevin Moore, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Chris Welling, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, St. Dominic was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap back in January as they fell 56-50 to St. Anthony's. St. Dominic has not had much luck with St. Anthony's recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
St. Anthony's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for St. Dominic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
St. Anthony's didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against St. Dominic in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 56-50 win. Does St. Anthony's have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Dominic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
