Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for York Institute

York Institute had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Jackson County on Wednesday. The Dragons' pitcher stepped up to hand the Blue Devils an 11-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Dragons as they're now sitting on four straight.

Brody Choate made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, York Institute let Gavin Garrett and Garrison Garrett run wild. Gavin scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Garrison went 2-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI Garrison has posted since back in April of 2024.

York Institute's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Jackson County, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
