Soccer Game Preview: Englewood vs. Sheridan

The Englewood Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Sheridan Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Englewood has three straight wins, Sheridan has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Englewood's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Jefferson. Jaqeuline Valente Guerrero was a massive factor in the win as she booted in five goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Sheridan's offense. They came up short against DSST: College View on Monday, falling 10-0.

Sheridan's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Englewood, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1-2.

Englewood took their win against Sheridan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
