Basketball Game Preview: Wickliffe Blue Devils vs. Crestwood Red Devils

The Wickliffe Blue Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Crestwood Red Devils at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Crestwood took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Wickliffe, who comes in off a win.

Wickliffe took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 52-40 victory over Fuchs Mizrachi.

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Crestwood's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mogadore.

Wickliffe will need focus on slowing down Hannah Ward, one of several Crestwood players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 15 points. Ward is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Abby Guyette was another key player, putting up six points and six steals.

Even though they lost, Crestwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.

Wickliffe is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. As for Crestwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.

Wickliffe took a serious blow against Crestwood when the teams last played back in January, falling 55-25. Can Wickliffe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
