Volleyball Recap: Wahama White Falcons vs. Meigs Marauders
Wahama was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Meigs Marauders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marauders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in August.
Wahama started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-22.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meigs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chloe Burnem, who had 19 digs and eight aces. With that strong performance, Burnem is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game. Marlee Laudermilt was another key player, getting 15 digs and three aces.
Wahama's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Meigs, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 4-10 record.
Wahama has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Wirt County on the 25th. As for Meigs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Wellston on the 23rd.
