After flying high against Goochland last Thursday, Maggie Walker came back down to earth. Maggie Walker took a 76-58 bruising from the Wilson Memorial Green Hornets on Wednesday. Maggie Walker's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Maggie Walker saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jamie Martin went 14 for 27 on her way to 34 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 58.6% of Maggie Walker's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Makayla Williams was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Maggie Walker's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3. As for Wilson Memorial, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Maggie Walker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 81-34 loss against Culpeper County on the 30th. Wilson Memorial has also already played their next match, a 74-34 win against Waynesboro on the 31st.
