With the playoffs in full swing, the pitchers in Texas take center stage. MaxPreps takes a look at the top pitchers in wins, earned run average and strikeouts.

Wins
Garrett Williams, Sr., Lucas Christian Academy (Lucas), 11
Williams has had 12 appearances this season and picked up 11 wins. He's surrendered just eight runs in 51 innings of work to go with 66 strikeouts.

Kel Bordwine, Sr., Cypress Ranch (Houston, Texas), 11
Bordwine has seven complete games in his 11 wins and has logged four shutouts. The senior has given up four earned runs in 68.1 innings.

Eric Smith, Jr., Avalon, 11
Smith has an ERA of 0.80 in 13 outings this year. He has eight or more strikeouts in seven games and 83 total.



Brennan Smith, Sr., Victoria East, 10
Smith is 10-1 on the season and had a stretch of four complete games in five appearances. He has 86 strikeouts in 71 innings.

Chase Piper, Sr., Hendrickson (Pflugerville), 10
After earning four starts early in the season, Piper has pitched in relief and logged a 10-1 record. He has 42 strikeouts and a 2.09 ERA.

Matt Nicholas, Sr., New Braunfels Christian Academy (New Braunfels), 0.23
Nicholas has given up just one earned run in 30.1 innings. He has a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 68-to-19.

Rhett Gallagher, Jr., Van Alstyne, 0.24
Gallagher has been tough to score on this season, surrendering just one run in 29.2 innings. He's officially faced 96 batters and fanned 44 of those hitters.

Jordan Seay, Jr., West Texas (Stinnett), 0.25
Seay gave up one earned run early in the season and hasn't let a runner across since. He has 44 strikeouts and just a combined 19 hits and walks in 28 innings.

Drew Shifflet, Jr., Woden, 0.29
Shifflet has been impressive, allowing two earned runs in 49 innings. He's struck out 93 hitters and had just 15 hits against him.

Ramirez gave up a single run in his first appearance of the season and has thrown over 34 straight scoreless innings. He has 50 strikeouts in 35.1 innings.

Sikes had a stretch this season where he fanned 82 hitters in 38 innings during six games. He's averaging 10.5 strikeouts per outing.

Kobe Ammons, Jr., Post, 115
Ammons usually pitches about four innings per game and is nearly doubling his strikeouts per inning. In 11 of his 16 appearances, he has punched out seven or more hitters.

Randal Garza, So., Agua Dulce, 113
On two occasions this season, Garza has thrown five innings and fanned 14 hitters. He remarkable has 113 strikeouts in just 46.1 innings. That means just 26 of his 139 outs have been non-strikeouts.

Ryon Stubblefield, Sr. Orangefield, 104
Stubblefield has eight or more strikeouts in eight of his outings. He has tallied 104 Ks in 69 innings.

Kasey Kalich, Sr., Victoria West, 102
Kalich has been consistent all season and had a masterful 15-strikeout performance in 6.1 innings in a victory on March 14.
