Preview: Perry Hall Gators vs. Towson Generals
Perry Hall is 8-0 against Towson since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Perry Hall Gators will head out on the road to challenge the Towson Generals at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Perry Hall suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Overlea, falling 86-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Towson pushed their score all the way to 67 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Parkville. Towson has struggled against Parkville recently, as their match on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Towson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Quint Fryer, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds, and Braden Renner who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Renner has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Korey Collins, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Perry Hall are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Towson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Everything came up roses for Perry Hall against Towson in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 75-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Perry Hall since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
