Basketball Game Preview: DeKalb Barons vs. Carroll Chargers

DeKalb is 0-10 against Carroll since November of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Barons are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, DeKalb came up short against Fort Wayne Northrop and fell 56-43. The loss was the Barons' first of the season.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Carroll and East Noble, and East Noble kept the tradition alive. The Chargers took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights on Tuesday.

DeKalb will have to contain Lily George as she made an impact in Carroll's last game. She dropped a double-double with 27 points and 14 boards. George's big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Olivia Hoch was another key player, shooting 71% from the field en route to 14 points.

Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for DeKalb, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

DeKalb suffered a grim 70-48 defeat to Carroll in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can the Barons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
