Basketball Recap: Elijah Wilson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Phalen Leadership Academy

Indianapolis Shortridge's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They secured a 54-49 W over the Phalen Leadership Academy Falcon. For the Blue Devils, this counts as revenge for the 67-66 victory the Falcon walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Indianapolis Shortridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Wilson, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 24 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least a third of Indianapolis Shortridge's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Yates, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 boards.

Perhaps the best among those players was Brenton Smith, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Drelan Vaden, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Indianapolis Shortridge's record now sits at 4-5. As for Phalen Leadership Academy, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

As for Phalen Leadership Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-67 loss against North Decatur on the 2nd.
