            Softball Recap: Wasilla Warriors vs. Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears        
        
		
        
        
            Wasilla extended their losing streak  to five  on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 5-14-1 in the process. They came up short against  the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears, falling  13-7. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Crimson Bears this season,  with their most recent  defeat being a  18-0  loss  on Friday.
 Wasilla saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Allison Devine, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.  Avery Cook also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
As for Juneau-Douglas,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 15-13-1. The result was nothing new for the Crimson Bears, who have now won nine contests by six  runs or more  so far this season.
On Juneau-Douglas' side,  Taylor Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only two  hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Williams has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Alayna Echiverri was  incredible,  going 4-for-5 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted  over her last 11  games. Another player making a difference was  Gwen Nizich, who  went 2-for-4 with three  runs and two  RBI.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Juneau-Douglas beat Wasilla by a score of  22-2 later that day.
