Softball Recap: Gahr Wins Going Away Against Mayfair

While Gahr put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Mayfair. Gahr put the hurt on Mayfair with a sharp 10-0 win. The Gladiators have beaten the Monsoons the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Monsoons has come to flipping the script.

Isabelle Gonzalez looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Lea Hilbert was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Mylah Burrowes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

The victory got Gahr back to even at 5-5-2. As for Mayfair, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gahr will face off against California at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Gahr 3.8, California 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Mayfair, they will be taking part in a tournament against Garden Grove at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
