Baseball Game Preview: Lake Placid Bombers vs. Boquet Valley Griffins

Lake Placid is a perfect 5-0 against Boquet Valley since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bombers will be playing at home against the Griffins at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Lake Placid's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Boquet Valley has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

On Thursday, Lake Placid earned a 9-6 victory over Schroon Lake.

Jarrett Mihill and Vann Morrelli made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Mihill pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Morrelli tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Mihill went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Morrelli went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Hyler Isham was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Lawrence, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Boquet Valley scored the most runs they've had this season last Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 13-3 to Schroon Lake.

Lake Placid is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Boquet Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Lake Placid's way against Boquet Valley in their previous matchup back in April, as Lake Placid made off with a 15-1 victory. Do the Bombers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Griffins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
