The Ann Sobrato Bulldogs will take on the Leland Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ann Sobrato is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.

Ann Sobrato is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Wilcox just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Chargers, falling 11-3. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ann Sobrato saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Bouton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Zoe Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Leland didn't have quite enough to beat Santa Teresa on Tuesday and fell 7-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Saints: they've now lost three in a row.

Sabrina Chung spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Irene Kim was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lily Fergason, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ann Sobrato fell to 5-1. As for Leland, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Ann Sobrato skirted past Leland 10-9 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will Ann Sobrato repeat their success, or does Leland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
