Baseball Recap: Cardinal Spellman Comes Up Short

Cardinal Spellman had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it seven. They lost 8-2 to the St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Pilots couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

For St. Joseph-by-the-Sea's part, Tyler Stern was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave Stern a new career-high. Vincent Petruzzelli also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
