Basketball Game Preview: Woodland Beavers vs. Columbia River Rapids

The Woodland Beavers will head out to face off against the Columbia River Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Woodland is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Hudson's Bay, posting a 68-39 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Beavers as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Columbia River entered their tilt with Hockinson on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 90-57 win over the Hawks. The Rapids have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Columbia River pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.7 points per game. As for Woodland, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-8.

Woodland might still be hurting after the 73-50 defeat they got from Columbia River in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Woodland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
