Volleyball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Whitmer Panthers. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-13, 25-15.

Danica Welch paced Springfield's offense, picking up seven kills. Welch got some help from Zoe Rose and her 16 assists. Finally, Addison Polefko kept Springfield's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Whitmer, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.

Coming up, Springfield will square off against Southview at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitmer has already played their next matchup (against Evergreen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
