Softball Game Preview: Wardlaw Academy Patriots vs. Hammond Skyhawks

The Wardlaw Academy Patriots will square off against the Hammond Skyhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hammond took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wardlaw Academy, who comes in off a win.

Wardlaw Academy is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They blew past Laurens Academy 19-8. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Taylor Hill (JR) was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kya McCormick ( SR), who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Hammond came up short against Wilson Hall on Tuesday, falling 12-3.

Ava Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3.
