The Northwest Vikings will take on the Gretna East Griffins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Northwest's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Saturday, when they got past Crete's usually-dominant pitching crew. Northwest's pitchers stepped up to hand Crete a 10-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Vikings who have now won six matchups in a row.

Gretna East never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Mercy on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Monarchs with a sharp 10-1 victory.

Kendall Johnson tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Gretna East let Aubrey Horst and Emerson Husen loose on the outfield. Horst went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and two doubles, while Husen went 3-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and a triple.
